Our Presenter: Richie Anderson

After six years as a familiar voice on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Zoe Ball, Richie has stepped up to front his own solo show every Sunday night on BBC Radio 2 and regularly covers for some of the station’s most popular programmes, including Rylan on Saturdays, Dermot O’Leary’s weekend breakfast show and Sara Cox’s weekday evening slot. He also keeps the nation updated with the travel on all shows during weekday afternoons.

2025 was a busy year for Richie. He was announced as the new presenter of long-running lifestyle and property show Escape to the Country (BBC One). Richie was part of the BBC’s Eurovision Song Contest coverage for the fourth consecutive year, commentating on the semi-finals live from Switzerland. He also returned to Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox for a third series, alongside friend and fellow Brummie Ellie Simmonds.

Richie is a regular on BBC One’s The One Show, presenting a mix of impactful and entertaining films – including a powerful segment about coming out to his football team, which earned him an RTS Award.

He’s no stranger to prime-time television, having danced in Strictly Come Dancing’s second all-male partnership in 2022, co-hosted the Platinum Party at the Palace for The Queen’s Jubilee and competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2023.

A passionate supporter of charitable causes, Richie raised over £877,000 in 2020 for Sport Relief during a gruelling challenge with Jo Whiley and Reverend Kate Bottley. When he’s off -air, you’ll likely find him at The Hawthorns, cheering on his beloved West Bromwich Albion.
